What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is a fixed price for defined work; an estimate is a rough figure that can change. Customers commit faster to quotes. DocMason generates proper quotes with line items, VAT and a valid-until date, so both sides know exactly what was agreed.
Is it free?
Yes. Build and preview a quote with no account at all, and create a free account when you want to download the PDF. A free account includes 3 quotes and 3 invoices every month with no card needed. Pro at 9.99 GBP a month a person makes them unlimited, removes the DocMason footer, and lets you email quotes out with an online accept link.
Can I convert an accepted quote to an invoice?
In one click. Every line item, the customer and your design carry over - no retyping. The invoice links back to the quote it came from.
Do quotes show VAT?
If you charge it, yes: 0, 5 or 20 percent, stated inclusive or exclusive. The maths is done in exact pence by deterministic code, never by the AI.
Can I set how long the quote is valid?
Every quote is valid for 30 days by default. Say "valid for 14 days" or pick a date in the editor to change it. Once the date passes, the online accept button stops working, so nobody can hold you to an old price.
Can I put my logo and branding on quotes?
Yes. 26 designs including trade, construction, property and hospitality looks, plus your logo, a brand colour and font - set once, applied to every quote and invoice you send.
When do QuoteChaser follow-ups go out?
A polite nudge 3 days after the quote is sent, and a final check-in 4 days after that. Then it stops - two emails maximum. Follow-ups are part of the Pro plan and switch on automatically for sent quotes that have a customer email.
What stops the chasing?
The customer accepting or declining through the link stops it instantly. So does marking the quote answered yourself, converting it to an invoice, or clicking Stop on the row. The status is re-checked right before every send, and a quote is only ever chased once. Replies go straight to your inbox - DocMason never sits in the middle.
