Quote, estimate or quotation?
Three words, two documents
A quote is a fixed price for a described job: once the customer accepts it, that is the price, which is why a quote carries a date it is valid until. An estimate is your best guess at what the job will cost, given honestly and open to change when the walls come off. Quotation is simply the formal word for a quote; nothing changes but the letterhead.

Is the quote template free?
Yes. Pick a design, fill it in and preview it with no account at all. Downloading the PDF creates a free account; the free plan covers 3 quotes and 3 invoices a month with all 26 designs, no card needed. Starter at 9.99 GBP a month makes them unlimited and adds emailing with the online accept link.
Can the customer accept the quote online?
Yes, from the Starter plan. The quote goes out by email with a View and accept button; the customer opens it with no account, types their name and accepts or declines. The answer, the time and the name are recorded on the quote, and any chasing stops at once.
Can I turn the quote into an invoice?
Yes, in one click. Open the accepted quote and choose Convert to invoice: the customer, lines, prices, VAT and design carry over and the invoice takes the next number in your sequence. The quote stays on file, linked to the invoice it became.
Is a quote legally binding?
A quote is a fixed-price offer; once the customer accepts it, you are both committed to that price for the work described, which is why the valid-until date matters. An estimate is a best guess and can change. DocMason quotes print their validity date so there is no argument later.
Can I download it as Word or Excel?
No. DocMason produces a PDF and an online copy your customer can open and accept from a link. There is no Word or Excel download, on purpose: the numbers are calculated for you and the template is remembered, so there is nothing to retype.
