Why a Word template costs you time
A downloaded template solves the look of the invoice and nothing else. The three jobs it leaves you are the three that actually eat the evening.
Retyping your own details every time
A Word template starts blank, so every invoice begins with your address, your bank details and your logo again. A template that remembers them is not a template, it is a tool.
VAT worked out by hand
Twenty percent of 480 is easy; twenty percent of three lines at different rates with a discount is where the arithmetic goes wrong and the invoice comes back.
The number sequence you keep in your head
Was the last one 1041 or 1042? HMRC wants invoice numbers that run in order, and a file called invoice-final-v2.docx does not count for you.
Instant professional templates
Send something that looks like you charge properly
An invoice that looks thrown together gets treated like one. Pick from 26 designs - these are the real ones, not pictures of them - and switch at any point, before or after you have written it. Your logo and colours go on top.

The contents
What every UK invoice template must include
The design is yours to choose. The contents are not: a UK invoice needs the same things whoever prints it, and a VAT invoice needs a few more. Every DocMason design carries all of them.
- Your business name, address and contact details, with your VAT number if you are registered
- The customer's name and address
- A unique invoice number that runs in sequence, and the invoice date
- Each item or service on its own line with quantity, unit price and line total
- The subtotal, the VAT at each rate if you charge it, and the total due
- Payment terms, the due date, and how to pay
The full walkthrough with a worked example is at how to write an invoice, and the VAT-registered version at what a valid VAT invoice must show.
Templates by trade
The same templates, in your trade's words
Each trade page shows the sentence that trade actually types and the invoice that comes out, with the questions that trade asks.

Why your accountant can relax
The AI writes. It does not count.
Language models are good with words and unreliable with arithmetic, so DocMason only lets them do the first part. Every figure on a document you send is worked out by ordinary code, in exact pence, the same way every time.
It is the difference between a tool you check afterwards and one you can send without reading twice.
- VAT, discounts and totals calculated in code, never by the AI
- Money held in exact pence, so rounding cannot drift
- Every email sent on your behalf is stored in full, so you can read exactly what went out and to whom
- Your data hosted in the EU, never used to train AI models

FAQs
Template questions, answered straight
Whether it is free, what you can download, and what the template remembers for next time.
Something else on your mind? Ask a human.
Is the invoice template really free?
Yes. Pick a design, fill it in and preview it with no account at all. Downloading the PDF creates a free account so your details are saved for next time; the free plan covers 3 invoices and 3 quotes a month with all 26 designs, no card needed. Starter at 9.99 GBP a month makes them unlimited.
Can I download the template as Word or Excel?
No. DocMason produces a PDF, and an online copy your customer can open from a link. There is no Word or Excel download, on purpose: the point is that you never retype the template again, because your details, numbering and VAT are handled for you.
Can I add my logo and colours?
Yes. Drop your logo onto the invoice or upload it in the Design panel, pick your brand colour and a font, and every design carries them. Free-plan documents print a small Generated with DocMason.Ai footer; any paid plan removes it.
Is the template saved for next time?
Yes. Your business details, bank details, logo, design choice and payment terms live on your account, and every customer you invoice is saved. The next invoice is the customer and the job, or one typed sentence.
Does the template handle VAT?
Yes. Each line takes 0, 5 or 20 percent, prices that include VAT are worked back to net, and the subtotal, VAT and total are calculated by code in exact pence, never by the AI. Not registered? Leave the lines at zero and no VAT prints.
