Can I bill a monthly retainer without retyping it?
Yes. Your business details, notes and bank details are saved on the account, so a retainer invoice is one sentence a month: 'Invoice Harbour Digital 1500 for the October retainer'. The next invoice number is taken automatically.
Can I charge for part of a day?
Yes - say 'half a day at 220' or use a quantity of 0.5 on the line. The line total, subtotal and any VAT are calculated by code in exact pence.
Should I add VAT as a freelancer?
Only if you are VAT registered. Below the threshold, leave every line at 0% and no VAT line prints. Once registered, set 20% on your lines and put your VAT number in Business details; DocMason then produces a valid VAT invoice.
Is it really free?

Does the AI do the maths?
No, and that is deliberate. The AI reads what you typed; plain deterministic code computes every total, discount and VAT figure in exact pence. AI is good at language and bad at arithmetic, so it only does the first one.
